Abstract :
A concept of toroidal magnetic trap for a positron plasma has been examined. The key parameter studied in this paper is the connection length between a source (radio-isotope such as 22Na) and a sink (a material that intersects the orbit). A long connection length allows us to apply a slow deceleration mechanism such as a wave-particle interaction. The connection length is remarkably increased when the positron source is placed just on the separatrix. This is due to non-periodic (chaotic) motion of particles near the separatrix.
