Abstract
The spectral distribution of the response of the TlInSe2 γ-ray detector was calculated using the Monte Carlo method. Non-linearity of the ampere-watt characteristic (AWC) of the detector and the inhomogeneity of radiation absorption in the crystal were corrected by means of the coefficient s≤1, which depends on γ-quantum energy, crystal thickness and the AWC shape. This method of correction is legitimate when the diffusion effect on distribution on non-equilibrium charge carriers in the semiconductor volume is not considerable. Comparison of the calculated and experimental data was carried out in the 0.02–1.25 MeV range.
