Abstract :
A scheme to correct for path length differences due to divergent beams that cause resolution limitation for the zero-field spin-echo technique (Golub and Gنhler, Phys. Lett. A 123 (1987) 43, Gنhler and Golub, Physica B 97 (1992) 234) is proposed. The ability to use divergent beams will allow for the use of larger area detectors and for a larger incoming divergence. Thereby, the effective count rate of zero-field spin-echo spectrometers may be significantly enhanced.
