Ultrasound assisted synthesis of δ-chloroesters from tetrahydrofuran and acyl chlorides in the presence of catalytic zinc dust

Sonication of acyl chlorides and dry tetrahydrofuran (THF) in the presence of catalytic amounts of zinc dust at 35 kHz gives δ-chloroesters in high yields.
