Abstract
We investigated infrared scintillation in some crystals. We also measured time response and temperature behavior of the ultraviolet scintillation of a crystal containing Yb. Since the response is very fast and the light yield is good, this scintillating crystal (Yb:YAG) is suitable for application to low-energy neutrino detection.
