Abstract
For thin powder samples, the EXAFS spectra are often tumpered due to the thickness inhomogeneity, and, thick samples, due to the fluorescence at energies above the absorption edge. As a result, the EXAFS amplitude decreases and information about the coordination numbers is distorted. To correct the X-ray absorption spectra for inhomogeneity and fluorescence effects, we propose a new method, which comes to solve the inverse problem. Model calculations were carried out. This method is applied to preliminary processing EXAFS spectra for Ni–Mn alloys.
