Abstract
The importance of electiricity as a type of energy is the main obejective of this study. This study aims to test the relationship between variables of electricity consumption, economic growth and population for 8 developing countries according to the IMF list. Data were analyzed for 8 countries for 1990-2012 period to test the direction and impact of economic growth and population on electricity consumption by using panel data analysis. Our model is analyzed through Swamy’s Random Coefficient Model and Seemingly Unrelated Model; the positive effect of economic growth on electricity consumption is observed and the effect of population seems insignificant for 2 countries.
