  • Abstract
    The real-time detection of photons became an important tool in biomedical sciences during the last decades. New techniques like PET are not possible without digital signal processing. The review covers the most common photosensors: photomultipliers, solid-state devices, hybrid detectors and devices based on electron amplification in gas.
