Abstract :
Several 2005 assessments of | V us | 2 are critically conflated to yield | V us | 2 = 0.0499 ± 0.0005 which combines with | V ud | 2 = 0.9500 ± 0.0007 as reported in Nucl. Instr. and Meth. A 543 (2005) 497 and with a negligible | V ub | 2 to yield: | V ud | 2 + | V us | 2 + | V ub | 2 = 0.9999 ± 0.0009 in accord with the demand of three-generation CKM unitarity.
