Precision in swine feeding programs: An integrated approach

The pork industry is experiencing unprecedented gains in productivity, due to developments in nutrition, genetics, housing, behaviour and overall management. As nutritionists seek to exploit further opportunities to increase efficiency, we need to ensure that all components of the feed formulation/manufacturing/delivery spectrum achieve parallel gains in technical capability. When this occurs, gains in production efficiency will be maximized. Coincidentally, some of the significant environmental issues associated with slurry utilization will also be addressed.
