Abstract :
The major objectives of this work are: (1) extend the modified Patel-Teja (MPT) equation of state proposed for aqueous electrolyte systems (Zuo and Guo, 1991a) to describe the liquid-liquid and vapor-liquid-liquid equilibria of hydrocarbon-water/brine systems by introducing an unconventional mixing rule into the energy parameter, a; and (2) apply the revised MPT model (MPT2 model) to predict the effects of the coexisting water/formation water phase on the high-pressure phase behavior of reservoir oils/gas condensates, for which no experimental data is available.
edicted results indicate that the influence of the coexisting aqueous phase is not negligible.
