Artificial neural networks linked to GIS for determining sedimentology in harbours

Artificial neural networks have been added as a mapping tool to a raster-based Geographical Information System to provide a predictive capability for overlay operations. This method is capable of incorporating dynamic change encompassed within existing observations. The technique has been applied to sediment prediction in Gothenburg harbour.
