Abstract :
Stabilization of soils with conglomerate materials applied to the improvement of road embankments and sub-grades, is one of the best alternatives from a functional, environmental and economic point of view. One of the main advantages of using lime as a binder is the improvement of soilʹs mechanical properties. ork shows the results obtained from lime treatment of four bentonite sludge samples obtained from the tunnel boring machine. The study is based on mineralogical, chemical, geotechnical and mechanical characterization tests of the bentonite sludge mixture with the optimal proportion of 3% lime, achieving improvements of 80% compared with the initial sludge mechanical properties.
