Abstract :
This paper aims at exploring the possibilities to produce TBCs coatings under VPS low pressure conditions. A diagnosis investigation of velocity, temperature and diameter of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) in-flight particles was undertaken using a high speed two-pyrometer analyzer. The particle characteristic modifications were obtained for various pressure levels and spray distances. The observed correlations concluded in an effective control of particle velocity and the decrease of particle temperature.
