Casing safety evaluation for setting liner hanger

The casing for liner hanger setting is subjected to the force exerted by liner hanger slip. Additional stress is built up inside casing which can change the initial stress distribution and can influence the safety of casing service. The additional circumferential stress and additional axial stress of casing are calculated and the safety analysis is evaluated in this paper, the maximum load capacity for casing also can be developed by this approach. The case study indicates that the additional circumferential stress and additional axial stress cannot be ignored when evaluates casing safety.
