Abstract :
Changes in surface air temperature for three regions in the European sector of the former USSR are described. The mean diurnal temperature range (DTR) in the cold season (November–March) decreased between 1961–1990. This is mainly due to the increase of minimum temperature (Tmin) in the northern and central regions and to the decrease of maximum temperature (Tmax) in the southern section.
