Abstract :
This study aims to explore teachers’ Interpersonal Communication Directive Skills (KKIG) in beginning the teaching and learning process in terms of the directive communication. This case study employs a qualitative approach involving five teachers of Indonesian language subject. Data are collected through observations. The data are systematically analyzed using N’VIVO 7.0 programme. The data shows that when the teachers begin the T & L, they employed the directive order communication and motivation. The effectiveness of directive interpersonal communications made the activities at the beginning T&L of Indonesian language more interesting and fun.
