Supply chain modeling and control for producing highly customized products

This paper discusses a method of dynamically querying supply chain partners to provide real time or near real time information regarding the availability of parts required for the production of highly customizable products. This method utilizes Internet-based communication and real time information from RFID sensors. The feasibility of this approach is demonstrated with its implementation in a typical automotive case.
