Abstract :
Fe22Al–5 wt.%TiC composite material has successfully synthesised by Vacuum Arc Melting (VAM) process. TiC crystals were formed by a dissolution–reprecipitation process of TiC powder added as precursor material. The solidification cooling rate alters the growth morphologies of the precipitated crystals. Jacksonʹs classical crystal nucleation and growth theories were facilitated in order to explain the final TiC microstructure.
