Abstract :
This paper presents an overview of human models, emphasizing their applications, constraints and objectives for evaluating the performance of manufacturing systems. It stresses that the conventional human models are not adapted to respond to analysis requirements during the concurrent design and proposes a combination of various human models to provide a dynamic and adaptive multi-agent/multi-scale architecture. This approach facilitates modeling and analysis of human performance in computerized 3D platforms. It is exemplified by modeling a human walking scenario, considering alternatives related to the carrying of loads and the existence of danger in the workplace.
