Abstract :
LEP1 precision measurements, combined with LEP2 searches for the Higgs boson, define the framework for future investigations in subatomic physics. In particular they define the energy and the luminosity which are needed at a future e+e− collider to settle the issue of the origin of mass and to complement the LHC on the various scenarios proposed beyond the Standard Model.
