Abstract
Using available published data and our own unpublished materials, a correlation is proposed of marine Pennsylvanian (Middle and Upper Carboniferous) and Cisuralian (Lower Permian) deposits of some important regions where new data have been collected and/or a new interpretation of existing data that were previously not included in the Peri-Tethys stratigraphic correlation program has been given. Special emphasis was laid on the correlation within the Pre-Caspian region. Most of the suggested correlations are based on fusulinid biostratigraphy. Magnetostratigraphic data are used to provide a precise correlation between marine and continental strata in southern Urals, Donets Basin, Central Asia and northern Caucasus.
