Abstract
The fossil flora from the lower part of the Khuren Dukh Formation (Albian) in the southern part of the Choyr Basin, Mongolia, is characterized by an abundance of ferns and conifers. Occurrence of fossil plants supports the reconstruction of paleovegetation previously estimated by Russian paleobotanists. The “palaeo Choyr Basin” appears to have been covered with fern marsh that was surrounded by conifer forest on the basin slopes or adjacent highlands.
