Polymeric micelles

Polymeric micelles share many characteristics with small chain surfactants and possess interesting features due to the macromolecular nature of the amphiphiles. The primary tools in studies of the micellization behavior of block copolymers and the micelle structure are scattering techniques. Recent advances include a thorough investigation of polyelectrolyte micelles, studies of the rheology of concentrated micellar systems, and new work on the solubilization of drugs into polymeric micelles. This study may bring this application into the realm of a feasible technology.
