Acid-soaps

The study of acid-soap crystals has resulted in many conflicting data. Recent progress in two areas, however, is providing substantial improvements. First, there is an increased awareness in the treatment of these solid-state systems. While specific methodologies are still being developed, the axioms have been articulated. Second, improvements in NMR and IR spectroscopy have led to better characterization of acid-soap crystals, providing clues to the nature of acid-soaps and related hydrogen bonding.
