Langmuir and self-assembled monolayers

Recent advances in Langmuir monolayers include studies of two-dimensional phase behavior, mesoscopic textures, and rheology. Langmuir–Blodgett techniques were shown to have promise for manufacturing monolayers of nanoparticles. The growth process of self-assembled monolayers was the focus of other important work using a variety of complementary experimental techniques. © 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
