Abstract :
We present a high resolution (10″) study to identify cold gas condensations in the northwest region of the Serpens Molecular Cloud with observations of deuterated molecules. We used the BIMA array to observe the 3 mm transitions of DCO+, HCO+, H13CO+, and dust continuum with nearly 10″ resolution. Comparisons of morphology, column densities, and abundances indicate the presence of clumps highlighted by their deuterated molecule emission. They possess high fractionation levels, namely large values of DCO+/H13CO+. However, only upper limits can be placed to their mass and luminosity. We present two disparate sources, the protostar S68N and one of several DCO+ peaks, as case studies of comparative morphologies of molecules and their deuterated counterparts.
