Abstract
Thermodynamics is usually not sufficient to predict trace element partitioning in secondary minerals, as evidenced by the growth-rate dependency of trace element partitioning occurring in many water-rock systems. In this context, two uptake kinetic models were tested and unified into a new one suitable for implementation in geochemical modeling codes. The model is able to predict the effects of variation in solution composition on trace element partitioning.
