Abstract :
An eight-day excursion examined the geology of the Baltic island of Bornholm. The key position of the island within the Fennoscandian Border Zone has resulted in the exposure of remarkably varied geology within a small area. The party examined Precambrian granites, gneiss and migmatite, and sediments of Cambrian to Cretaceous age. A preliminary description of a new exposure of Cambrian sediments at Stroby is given and the reopening of the quarries at Limensgade and, to a lesser extent, at Skelbro is reported.
