Abstract
For the dynamic ice making system, a long outstanding problem is how to make ice continuously without adhesion to the cooling wall. In this paper, a bubbling device was applied to an experimental dynamic ice making system to suppress ice adhesion to the cooling wall. The experimental dynamic ice making system employed an air compressor to create air bubbles, and for the sake of this purpose, its ice slurry generator was set up vertically. To achieve an optimum working condition, a performance study on this system was conducted. The effects of the air blowing rate and other operating parameters on the performance were experimentally studied. It is concluded that the air bubbles are effective to suppress ice adhesion to the cooling wall; however, the air blowing rate of the air compressor should be optimized.
