Abstract :
In this study a new inhibitor which can be used instead of hydrazine (N2H4) has been investigated. Levoxine_15 as replacement inhibitor is introduced for oxygen corrosion prevention in steam tanks. The steam tanks are faced pitting corrosion in both of operating and standby periods.
y keeping the concentration of Levoxine_15 near to 0.5 mg/l in steam tanks, no allergenic signs have been reported by the workers during 2 years. Experiments are shown that pH controlling in range of 10–10.5 and 11–12 prevents local corrosion effectively in standby and operating steam tanks, respectively. Also prevention from global corrosion is possible in pH range of 9–9.5.
esearch shows the alkalinity of system is increased, when the temperature of water reaches to 70 °C and Levoxine_15 is used as inhibitor therefore it is beneficial cost to save money.
