Abstract :
Remote maintenance of damaged components in ITER is based on replacement. This involves the transfer of activated components in sealed but not shielded transfer casks to the Hot Cell Facility. Measures taken to avoid the risk of contamination with tritium and activated dust during such operations are described and preparatory activities, involving hands-on assisted tasks, are summarized.
