Data acquisition and management requirement for ITER

The almost continuous nature of ITER operation necessitates both data acquisition and processing to be in real-time. The distributed control system architecture associated with intelligent front-end data processing and high band-wise communication network technologies must be provided to allow for its experimental aspects. These requirement and data processing concepts are described.
