Abstract
SAFALY is a hybrid computer code comprising a zero-dimensional plasma dynamics and a radial and poloidal thermal analysis of in-vessel components. It was used to evaluate the loss of plasma control events in the ITER Generic Site Safety Report (GSSR) but no further improvements had been implemented since then. Now, the code has been recovered and is being developed in order to reproduce accident sequences involving both plasma and cooling abnormal events. In this paper, the new ITER plasma and blanket models for SAFALY are overviewed. In addition, simultaneous overfuelling and loss of coolant accident is simulated for ITER 500 MW inductive scenario.
