Abstract :
The storage and delivery system (SDS) is one of the major systems of the tritium fuel cycle in the ITER tritium plant. The main purpose of the SDS is to store deuterium and tritium and to supply the gases needed for the operation of ITER. In this paper, standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the SDS conforming to the functional requirements are developed. The SOP of the SDS consists of nine operating modes, which are: (1) initial fuel loading, (2) fuel supply during plasma operation, (3) fuel circulation during plasma operation, (4) recovery of fuel (T2, DT, D2) from the ISS, (5) in-bed calorimetric measurement with helium loop, (6) helium-3 recovery, (7) over-pressure protection, (8) ZrCo bed regeneration, and (9) vacuum service line arrangements in the SDS. For each operating mode, the definition, the preparation and prerequisites, and the operating procedure are described. According to this SDS-SOP, the P&ID based on the FDR-2001 is revised and new operating flow diagrams are drawn.
