Abstract :
The Integrated Safety Analysis code System (ISAS) was originally developed for ITER, to make it possible to model coupled physical phenomena in detailed transient analyses, from a reference event to radiological consequences. ISAS allows integration of existing computer codes in a coherent manner. The codes applied in ISAS for fusion safety analyses are at present safaly for plasma transients, athena for thermal hydraulic response, intra for containment studies and hydrogen production, and naua for aerosol transport and release. Results from an ITER reference accident sequence, a large divertor ex-vessel loss of coolant leak, show that ISAS is a viable tool to study these combined effects.
