Current Clinical and Research Developments in Cardiovascular Multi-Detector Computed Tomography

Computed tomography (CT) was introduced into medical imaging in the 1970s.1 Across multiple medical specialties, it has since enabled novel diagnostic approaches for a variety of clinical conditions. Technical advances, including fast gantry rotation and multi-detector technology, subsequently allowed cardiovascular applications including imaging of the coronary arteries.2,3
