On a New Generalization of the Exponential Distribution

This paper introduces a two-parameter family of distri- butions which includes the ordinary exponential distribution as a special case. This distribution exhibits monotone hazard rate and may be a competitor to the families of two parameter gamma and Weibull distributions. Various statistical and reliability aspects of this model is explored. Several numerical examples based on real data show the °exibility of the new distribution for modeling proposes.
