Abstract
The strong awareness of quality and the fast change in the market have shortened the life
cycle of hi-tech products; therefore, enterprises must use E-Commerce and adopt
appropriate new product development strategies to develop the products which meet
customer needs and improve the new product development performance. With the
Taiwanese hi-tech industry as the subject, this study explores the relevance among the
application degree of e-commerce, the new product development strategy, and the new
product development performance. A questionnaire survey was conducted in this study,
the questionnaire copies were distributed among the superintendents in charge of the
development of e-commerce or new products in hi-tech manufacturers. According to the
research results, a higher application degree of e-commerce has significant positive effects
on the new product development performance; the implementation degree of the new
product development strategies promotes the application of e-commerce; a higher
implementation degree of the new product development strategies has significant positive
effects on the new product development performance; hi-tech manufacturers can adopt new
product development strategies to enhance the application degree of e-commerce and then
improve the new product development performance.
