Effect of virtual social networks on nursing students’ learning in English Teaching

مقدمه: توسعه فناوري‌هاي نوين مجازي فرآيند ياددهي- يادگيري را متحول ساخته است. از جمله اين فناوري‌ها، بكارگيري شبكه‌هاي اجتماعي مجازي در تعليم‌و‌تربيت است. هدف از اين پژوهش، بررسي تاثير بكارگيري شبكه اجتماعي مجازي بر يادگيري دانشجويان پرستاري در آموزش زبان انگليسي بود. روش: در اين پژوهش از طرح پيش‌آزمون- پس‌آزمون با گروه كنترل استفاده شد. جامعه آماري پژوهش شامل كليه دانشجويان رشته پرستاري، دانشكده پرستاري ملاير در سال تحصيلي 95-94 بود كه از طريق نمونه‌گيري در دسترس 30 نفر انتخاب و به صورت تصادفي در دو گروه كنترل و آزمايش گماشته شدند. ابزار مورد استفاده در پژوهش شامل آزمون يادگيري (پيش‌آزمون با پايايي 87/0 و پس‌آزمون با پايايي 89/0 از طريق آزمون مجدد و تاييد روايي صوري توسط اساتيد درس زبان انگليسي به‌عنوان متخصصين موضوع) بود. براي تجزيه و تحليل داده‌ها از آزمون آماري تي‌زوجي به كمك نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه 18 استفاده شد. نتايج: يافته‌هاي پژوهش نشان داد ميزان يادگيري دانشجوياني كه زبان انگليسي را از طريق شبكه اجتماعي مجازي، آموزش ديدند بيشتر از ميزان يادگيري دانشجوياني بود كه به روش سنتي زبان انگليسي را آموزش ديدند (001/0=p، 48/2±30/14=t). نتيجه‌گيري: با توجه به تاثير شبكه ‌اجتماعي مجازي بر يادگيري دانشجويان پرستاري در آموزش زبان انگليسي، توصيه مي‌شود كه از اين شيوه آموزش در فرآيند ياددهي- يادگيري آموزش پزشكي بيشتر استفاده گردد.

Introduction: development of new virtual technologies has evolved teaching-learning process. As for the technologies, we can refer to the use of virtual social networks in education. The purpose of this research is to explore the effect of using virtual social network on nursing students’ learning in English teaching. Methods: in this research, pretest-posttest plan with control group was used. The research population consisted of all nursing students of Malayer Nursing School in 2015-2016, in that a number of 30 students were chosen by available sampling and randomly assigned to control and experimental groups. Instruments used in the research consisted of learning tests (pretest with 0.87 reliability and posttest with 0.89 via test-retest and confirmation of formal validity by English teachers as subject experts). For analysis of data, paired t-test with the help of SPSS 18th edition was used. Results: the findings of the research showed that the learning level of students who learned English language via virtual social networks is more than that of students who learned it traditionally (t=14.30±2.48, P=0.001). Conclusion: given the effect of virtual social networks on nursing students’ learning regarding English teaching, it is recommended that this teaching technique be used in teaching-learning process of medical education.
