Abstract :
Tonsillectomy (TE) is one of the most common surgical operations performed by otolaryngologists using variety of methods. Conventional techniques, bipolar cautery, laser and recently developed cold ablation method (coblation) are techniques of special interest. As observed in the postoperative recovery of 200 patients over the 18-months period between March 2004 and September 2005, coblation had the advantages of less pain, fewer postoperative symptoms,, higher operation speed and faster healing of the tonsil bed as well as faster return to normal diet and ultimately, normal life.
