Abstract :
Background: Staphylococcus epidermidis is a part of the skin’s normal fl ora that can cause acne. Th is study was designed to evaluate
the effi cacy of nicotinamide as a stick in eradication of staphylococcus. Materials and Methods: For evaluating of Anti-microbial eff ect
on S. epidermidis used well plate method. We chose fi ve plates for nicotinamide and fi ve for mupirocin. Th e zones of inhibition were
measured and compared. Results: Th e results showed nicotinamide stick had anti-microbial eff ects, but in comparison to mupirocin
it was signifi cantly less (P = 0.003). Conclusion: Nicotinamide stick was made and evaluated. Th is study showed that nicotinamide
had anti-microbial eff ect on staphylococcus.
