Abstract :
Cyclic imides as building blocks in the synthesis of natural products, drugs and polymers display a diverse of pharmacological
activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, anticonvulsant, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory effects. This review summarizes recent
findings on antimicrobial activities of cyclic imide derivatives and emphasis on the importance of cyclic imides for drug design and
development of new antimicrobial compounds.
