Abstract
Adenylyl cyclase is a membrane-bound enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of ATP to cAMP. The inhibition of adenylyl cyclase was carried out by measuring the ability of the macrophage chemotactic protein-1 to inhibit the forskoiin-induced enzyme activity. Adenylyl cyclase activity in the presenc of macrophage chemotactic protein-1 was decreased compared to that in controls [2.11+/-0.35 (mean +/- SD.) vs. 6.83 +/- 0.45, activity (/fmol cAMP/mg protein/min) ].
