Abstract :
Hydatiddisease isoneofthe oldestdiseasesknowntohumankind. In85-95%of
thecases,theliverand/orthelungsareinvolvedandonly5-15%ofotherorgans.
The case presented here is a 38-year-old man with hydatid disease of lower lumbar
vertebrae,sacrum,lumbosacralspinalcanal,andleftiliacbone;withextensiontoretroperitoneum
and piriformis, sacrospinalis, iliacus, iliopsoas, and quadratus lumbarum muscles;
without involvement of liver or lung, as diagnosed byMRI andCT scan and confirmedby
surgery.
