Abstract :
A convenient and efficient procedure for the synthesis of substituted 2-amino-5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles has been
achieved by the reaction between isothiocynate, hydrazine hydrate and acid chloride in which cylodesulfurisation was carried
out by Lugol’s reagent (I2/KI) in the presence of sodium hydroxide. All synthesised compounds were characterised by IR,
Mass, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analysis.
