Abstract
In this paper, a simple and highly efficient protocol for the synthesis of tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxamide has been reported usingLa(NO3)3.6H2O as catalyst under solvent-free conditionat 80°C. This method offers several advantages such as short reaction times, no waste formation,eco-friendliness, simple purification steps and high yield. In this work, six derivatives of pyrimidinone have been synthesized for the first time. These newly synthesized derivatives were characterized by 1HNMR and 13CNMR techniques.
