Abstract :
An efficient Collocation method based on the shifted Legendre polynomials is implemented for solv- ing the Magnetohydrodynamic Hiemenz flow with variable wall temperature in a porous medium. In the presented method the need for guessing and correcting the initial values during the solution procedure is eliminated and by using the given boundary conditions of the problem a stable solution can be derived. Numerical results show influence of the Prandtl number, permeability parameter, Hartmann number and suction/blowing parameter on the velocity and temperature profiles. The skin friction coefficient and the rate of heat transfer given by the Spectral Collocation method are in good agreement with those of the previous studies.
