Abstract :
Taxonomic aspects of the genusMedicagoL. in Iran werestudied. Among the 2500 herbariumsheets and dried fruit samples of 150 populations, 22 species and subspecieswereidentified. New subsectionAstrocalyxI. Mehregan (from the section SpirocarposSeringe in DC.) and new combination, M. rigidulasubsp. sinskiae(Uljanova) I. Mehregan M. R. Rahiminejad are introduced. Also, twospecies and one subspecies are mentioned as new records from Iran.
