Health Promoting Hospital: A Strategy for Reorientation toward Health Promotion

Health promotion (HP) as already defined by the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion is “the process of enabling people to increase control over and improve their health.” The Network of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH), established in 1990 by the World Health Organization (WHO), is the bestknown example of health promotion reorientation in hospitals. It supports the implementation of health promotion and facilitates organizational change. Since its establishment, the network has spread worldwide. Baqiyatallah Hospital has been a member of this network since 2015.
